The Interchain Orchestration Layer - Testnet Update

The Intento testnet is more than just another testnet, it’s the foundation for the interchain orchestration layer.

The future of interchain automation is here. Intento transforms fragmented workflows into seamless, secure, and self-custodial execution. On-chain workflows are fragmented and difficult to perform, Intento is fixing that. The Intento testnet is more than just another testnet, it’s the foundation for interchain orchestration. While the journey has had its challenges, that’s exactly what makes it groundbreaking. We’re doing the first long-running testnet of a Partial Set Security (PSS) chain, secured by a test Cosmos Hub chain. This is cutting-edge infrastructure being tested in real time.

Tackling Challenges

The unique PSS testnet has been running long-term, attracting many validators, as nearly 1,000 validators have signed up. Due to the PSS setup, participation from non-Hub validators would lead to consumer halts. Hence, we now work with an allow-list and only allow validators actively validating on the Cosmos Hub mainnet.

A key issue encountered was related to IBC: Without WebSocket support, ICA messages couldn’t be sent properly, disrupting interchain transactions. This is exactly why we test: pushing the limits, identifying weaknesses, and refining the experience to build a resilient system.

What’s Next?

We’re rolling out key improvements:

  • Stability enhancements to prevent disruptions.
  • Fixes to feedback loops for smoother execution.
  • Advanced event-based notifications, improving UX and interactivity.
  • More opportunities to contribute: find a bug or suggest an improvement? Join the Testnet Points Program and shape the future of Intento.

Exciting Partnerships on the Horizon

Behind the scenes, we’re securing major partnerships to expand Intento’s impact. One key focus is scheduling liquidity deployment for newly launched tokens, streamlining how users can opt-in and deploy their liquidity dynamically.

IBC & Cosmos Hub: Eureka moment!

IBC v2 and IBC Eureka are making waves. Just last week, we saw the first IBC transaction to Ethereum and back, a milestone moment. This transaction originated from Cosmos Hub with extremely low gas costs, showcasing the excellent work of Interchain Inc.

For Intento to reach its full potential, general message passing will be a key component. As a PSS chain secured by Cosmos Hub, we envision Cosmos Hub becoming the central coordination layer between Intento and Ethereum, enabling sophisticated cross-chain automation.

How Intento Builds on This

The first-ever IBC transaction to Ethereum marks a turning point. Cosmos isn’t just connecting chains, it’s unlocking frictionless liquidity between ecosystems. Intento is ready to take this even further.

This breakthrough sets the stage for Intento’s goals:

  • Seamless orchestration across ecosystems.
  • Trust-mimimized automation of Ethereum actions using Cosmos technology.
  • Intent-based cross-chain strategies like arbitrage, DCA, and portfolio optimization on new IBC-connected chains like Ethereum.

Intento: The Interchain Orchestration Layer

Whereas the vision for the Cosmos Hub is to serve as the coordination layer for the interchain, the vision behind Intento is to be the interchain orchestration layer that enables anyone and any team on any chain to optimize their dynamic workflows and cross-chain assets.

  • Simple, secure, and cost-effective orchestration.
  • Self-custodial by design, no trust assumptions, just pure configuration-based execution.
  • AI-ready, easily integrates with AI agents to simplify complex on-chain operations.
  • Protocols can integrate seamlessly, starting with basic automations like scheduled liquidity deployment or DCA strategies, then scaling to advanced interchain flows.
  • No smart contract modifications, no state-breaking changes.

We’re not just solving interchain challenges. We’re redefining how blockchains work together. The dream of effortless, automated cross-chain interactions is becoming reality.

Get Involved

The testnet has seen strong engagement, but there’s so much more potential. Developers, validators, and integrators—join the testnet and earn points while shaping interchain automation. Intent-based workflows are the next evolution of blockchain, and Intento is at the forefront.

Let’s build. 🚀
